NACA's
mission is to support efforts that improve the health and living
conditions of those within the Caribbean. Through fundraising
efforts and giving our time, we support community based
activities/organizations /individuals by contributing to their growth
and development.
We give priority to :
- Activities/Programs
where our funds can help leverage other funds
- Activities/Programs
that demonstrate a need in a community
- Programs
that have established partnerships with other local organizations or
community based organizations
Update!A 2009 donation was made August 24th to the SOS
Childrens Villages
of Jamaica Barrett town, for abandoned and orphaned children.
The donation was made to support establishing a reading
room at the primary school operated by SOS in Barrett Town. The
Donation consisted of school supplies, supplies for the reading
room ( including books, a CD/tape player, books on CD, rugs, other
supplies), and a $300 cash donation towards the reading room.
School restarted in Septemebr for children in Jamaica so the donation
of school supplies was a timely one in August.
Persons may still make a tax deductible donation to SOS Children's Villages of Jamaica
and mail to our PO Box address.
Any NACA
member may submit a recommendation of a worthy project. A Philantrophy
committe is formed annually to make support selections using explict
criteria and the leadership board gives final approval for fundrasing
goals and activities.
